WHY WE DO NOT SEE, WHAT WE HAVE IN FRONT OF OUR EYES?

In the history of THE WASTELESS WORLD STORY, the name of 76 chapters has a question mark in the name. This is chapter 77 and I hope not just the question, but the answer will help to understand and eliminate the issue.

There is one property of HUMAN beings which I think is primarily limited to humans only. I call it “PROFESSIONAL BLINDNESS”. It let us concentrate and see only what we aim or do, and avoid the possibility to see alternatives that may (or may not) disturb us from doing what we are doing or are paid for.

You have probably already seen a similar image. The eyes of the horse are covered with so-called EYE-FLAPS or BLINDERS. The reason is well described in the following way

“Horses wear blinders to reduce their field of vision and stay focused on their tasks. When pulling loads or racing, horses are easily distracted. Horses that pull wagons in cities need blinders to keep their attention focused straight ahead and block out the distractions around them.”

It is similar or the same as PROFESSIONAL BLINDNESS with one exception, HUMAN does not need physical cover, he or she just switches the distraction away. Few can do it intentionally, the rest does not frequently recognize that it is already “blind”

It is not recognized by the HUMAN, but it is well recognized by those, who made it to benefit and personal profit. MARKETING AGENCIES, POLITICIANS, DECISION-MAKERS, CORPORATIONS, GLOBAL ORGANIZATIONS, AND THE WASTE INDUSTRY. These are just a few to name.

How can be professional blindness used for personal profit?

If you are a DESTRUCTOR, and your profit is connected to the DESTRUCTION of natural resources, it is enough to find a USEFUL FOOL who will repeat a message against DESTRUCTION again and again and again. Permanently. If he or she will be selected well, he or she will become a celebrity, named ANTI-DESTRUCTION WARRIOR, and invited to all and everyone to show up and take a selfie. With every new speech delivered, with every new regular appearance the people who listen and watched will become blind to the person and message. Both will become invisible.

If you want to make something invisible, just place it in front of the audience and keep it there, and keep it there, and keep it there. Sooner or later it will become part of the image and disappear from the mind. It will become invisible.

In fact, it is one of the best and cheapest ways of covering the issues, no matter how big and serious they are.

Question that WAKES-UP

The question that tears the EYE-FLAPS DOWN in a second, leaves the impression in the eyes that is so well known from the eyes of children looking at something (no matter what) for the very first time.

PROFESSIONAL BLINDNESS is man-made and man fuelled illness that can be cured with just one question, but the question must deliver with the answer as well, as a tool to use and not let someone put the eye-flaps back on the viewer's eyes.

Somebody may say that we do not see what is in front of our eyes because we do not want to see it. I don't think it is our intention, but more or less a reflex of our body and mind, that try to make space for new information by blocking the old one in some way.

The CORE TASK of the day

FIND YOUR EYE FLAPS AND TAKE THEM DOWN IN A PLACE THAT YOU KNOW WELL. LOOK AT THE PLACE WITH DIFFERENT EYES AND YOU WILL BE SURPRISED HOW MUCH YOU WILL DISCOVER.
