I just finished the delivery of the INDUSTRY 5.0 keynote at MAHARAJA AGRASEN UNIVERSITY, INDIA
It went well. Expected was 20 members, arrived almost 100. All asked questions indicate the full understanding of the topic
The reason why I start to write this article that will be published in more than four months´ time is a video published on LINKEDIN which part I screenshot and use as a header image of this article.
The video promotes great new technology of power generation, but it was not the video, but one sentence that I hear so frequently from all sites
MATERIAL or PRODUCT CAN BE RECYCLED
In three days I will deliver my next keynote, on RECYCLING
What is so powerful about that sentence?
The word
“CAN”
it seems to be harmless and in fact, it is harmless as long as it is not used instead of
“WILL NOT”
and this is what happen since the adoption of RECYCLING by the WASTE INDUSTRY
I am not sure if the WASTE INDUSTRY adopted this tool from POLITICS, or if POLITICIANS adopted it from the WASTE INDUSTRY, but both use it with higher and higher frequency.
Today is the EARTH DAY 2022 and in my e-mail landed among many others following two e-mails
Both requested me to do something for the planet today, both send by mailing robots paid by money funded to organizations that call others for change without the will to change themself.
They CAN change but WILL NOT
because the volume of funding is growing with every single promise or request sent to others. Not the palpable results and changes are being paid but talking about them with the aim to win more time for ongoing destruction.
People and companies paid well for commenting destruction do not act against the destruction because they will lose great and permanently growing business. It is the same for the WASTE INDUSTRY that never tries to reduce WASTE = PROFIT, Politicians that have been assigned TO DO POLITICS, not to DELIVER RESULTS, because if results are delivered, no politicians would be needed or much less than today.
If a PRODUCT CAN BE RECYCLED, means WE DO NOT CARE IF IT WILL BE RECYCLED
Even the extended producer´s responsibility looks more like a fairytale than a tool of change.
Eight years I spent preparing the WASTE PREVENTION POLICY. Eight years without salary, regular income, and holidays.
Since its introduction on September 1st, 2021, the legislation was as part of my keynotes and webinars on all continents and in more than 100 countries and it makes me proud to learn, that it speaks the same to every single person.
