THE GREAT TEACHER
He is NINETY-EIGHT today, on March 10th, 2011
He read and finish every single day one book and five crosswords
His name is ZDENEK LEBR
and since 1946 he was sharing with students his passion for sport, languages, and education.
He is my GRAND-DAD and the man thanks to whom I love reading, writing, languages and together with my mother he inspires me to love the education on both harbors of the river. I love to teach and I love to study from those I teach.
I am sure that if there was not my GranFather, I will not write these lines, nor would I be able to write the WASTELESS WORLD STORY as a diary for all who would like to change the world with the work of their own hands.
Born in 1923, five years after the end of the First World War, he was 16 when the Second World War has begun. His family not rich or educated but his father, despite the money shortage, buy regularly CZECH BOOKS and collects them one by one and sometimes page by page if printed as a leaflet form to let them turn into a book after all pages collected. The library of my GrandFather is not big but contains treasures like the entire works of KAREL CAPEK same age as he is himself and much more.
LOVE TO WORDS and STORIES was transferred from Father to Son, from Son to Daughter and from Daughter to Son again, to me
NINETY-EIGHT YEARS YOUNG
This age can only a few imagine.
He lost his wife after 65 years of marriage but still speaks to her image every single day and I am sure he will do the same today.
My GRANDFATHER is NINETY-EIGHT and I hope I would be able to have long discussions with him every time we meet because it does not matter how deep the wrinkles in his face or how the gravity push his shoulders, inside he is still the MAN he was all his life
HONEST
STRONG
With WILL TO LIVE
intention TO TEACH AND LEARN
He is the TRUE HERO from whom I have the honor to be taught and from whom I learn so much every single day of my life
THANK YOU GRAND-DAD
THANK YOU FOR ALL
and let us meet again
SOON
Michael, your grand-son
