The Battle of Butterflies
This is my 100th article on MEDIUM since the very first one published on January 1st, 2018. The article reaches in a total of almost 30.000 readers worldwide and I am happy I have found MEDIUM.COM as a free speech publishing platform, facing difficulties on many others.
I am writing this celebration article just days after UN CLIMATE SUMMIT in New York and one day after my visit to the biggest European Packaging expo which takes place in Nürnberg, Germany. It is named FACHPACK and is as rich as usually covering the 9 (+2) halls in the area of Nürnberg exhibition grounds.
Despite the distance between both places and despite the different content and participants, both events have many similarities.
- Both present SUSTAINABILITY in the first place
- Both exclusive and Expensive
- Both collecting Leaders in one place
What is different in that the participants of one call them WORLD LEADERS and on the other one call them world leaders in the packaging industry.
In Fact, there is one more similarity
SUSTAINABILITY IS JUST PRETENDED.
There is no will for change, but speaking about changes and need for change can every single participant do for hours, days, month, years and ages.
The biggest and strongest message from NEW YORK was the speech of GRETA THUNBERG, which was one of three selected YOUNG, to speak to unselected OLD.
It was emotional, similar to many speeches held before with one (and for me important) difference. GRETA mentioned she should be in school, but can not. I do disagree with the second part of the message.
On June 26th, 2019 I submit an Open letter to Greta Thunberg with thanks for the impulse she has done to the global CLIMATE CRISES and advised her not to follow the calls of politics and business fairies. She did not listen.
On November 20th, 2018 I send a waring THE TIME IS LOST decision-makers ignore.
On December 23rd, 2018, one day before CHRISTMAS I remind everyone THE EARTH IS NOT A SINGLE-USE PLANET, telling on May 17th, 2019 THE UNITED NATIONS ARE WRONG which nobody believes, continuing the trip to KYOTO THE CITY OF WRONG DECISIONS.
I am not just speaking about the need for change, since 2013 I am changing the world direction by inventing and introducing tools which never existed before.
- INDUSTRIAL UPCYCLING — the systematic waste prevention methodology applicable to industries
- CORE TASK MANAGEMENT — the tool to work with and not against the time
- INDUSTRY 5.0 — first industrial evolution ever lead by man (HUMAN)
I have saved thousands of tons of products and materials from becoming waste before speaking about. I did that because DELIVERING RESULTS is for me more important than DELIVERING STORIES.
Nürnberg exhibition ground was filled with nice and shiny booths and stands all filled with new products, SUSTAINABILITY and NACHHALTIGKEIT everywhere, there was just one small issue. It stays stuck in the print never reaching the real world.
Everybody spoke with me with passion about sustainability approach presenting their own sustainable solution, package, service. Asking every single one “HOW DO YOU CARE ABOUT YOUR PRODUCT AT THE END OF ITS PRIMARY USE?” The answer was, it is not our problem.
If you look at the top of my article and its title, you will find beautiful creatures and creations of nature, the butterflies. But I think only understanding the words above you will remember the BUTTERFLY EFFECT which is something all the LEADERS and leaders forgot.
My journey continues and I will keep building wasteless world for I know, this is the only true way to survive, not in VIRTUAL, BUT PHYSICAL WORLD we live in and we enjoy all together.
