When creatures feel to be endangered they spread the fear. There are many forms to do so. One of them is that they make themself bigger, make noise, come together with others to scare by the quantity, and much more.
It is probably instinct that equipped almost every creature with this knowledge.

and grown by spreading the image that represents fear, frequently called the “possibility” or “potential” for growth.
