NUMBERS DO NOT LIE, PEOPLE DO

Same as many all around the globe, I watch the COVID-19 SCOREBOARD. It seems like a sports match or the stock market.

There is one difference, in many sports matches and competitions you can follow the results, by carefully watching the performance of the athletes, teams, and individuals, challenging each other on the ground, in the air so as on the water.

The stock market is very different

The only you see are the numbers that some call performance indexes.

Just a few I suppose really know what is behind them.

People working there, in stress watch the numbers going up and down, having just one in mind, the profit.

It is so easy to change one number for another, isn't it?

What about the coronavirus table?

The maker uses government data, numbers presented by the giants who call themself governments. Nice numbers are better than Ugly ones, which one is better to present?

It would be easy to visit the neighbor or family, in “normal times”, it would be easy to speak with others and compare, but not in the time of fear and anxiety. In such times a man does not follow the standards and blindly follow the rules, no matter if good or bad and the giants happy about new power.

No questions are asked

Only answers are being delivered.

I do not follow the stream, I never did and I have few questions to ask

  1. Why the numbers in China keep dropping when more and more cities and people become ghost cities?
  2. Why so many follow the Italia quarantine example when the number of death and infected rising?
  3. Why infected are not being treated in dedicated hospitals, but are kept home?
  4. Why not a single government look for the solution to keep the infection away from the general public, but instead deliver face masks everyone knows to protect just the infected one, but not the healthy ones?
  5. Why China become Hero just by correcting own failure?
  6. Why is nobody asking what the virus does when in the water?

There are many other questions to be asked, but it seems like there is nobody who is ready to answer them. Is there a reason?

What if …
