INDUSTRY 5.0 ORIGIN

INDUSTRY 5.0 was officially launched on December 1st, 2015 with an article named INDUSTRY 5.0 FROM VIRTUAL TO PHYSICAL which was the 235th article in my English blog.

The reason for preparing and publishing the article was the increased number of comments of my clients and partners who say “Mr. Rada, the work you are doing is much more than just a methodology, it is the entire industry”. Firstly I did not pay so much attention, but with the increasing number of similar statements I look at my work and INDUSTRIAL UPCYCLING and realize, they are right. This was the moment when I consider for the first time the appropriate name for the new INDUSTRY, it was the end of 2014 and the idea resonates stronger and stronger until I sat down, start to write, and finally published the article mentioned above, with no idea what will happen.

The result strikes me down

I had never before so many comments on a single post and as time goes, more and more people congratulate the name and content that was connected to it.

It helps me to realize that all the work is done, all the tools developed help to create something new, something so strong that after the start, nobody would be able to stop it and this is something that is part of evolution, which was the moment when I firstly named INDUSTRY 5.0 the FIRST INDUSTRIAL EVOLUTION and because there was no third party financing, funding, incentives or other financial support, and no machines, robots, and technology were needed to deliver results I have added the words EVER LED BY MAN (HUMAN)

This was the next of the INDUSTRY 5.0 boosters because the sentence helped people to identify with INDUSTRY 5.0 and see their own role in it, which was very different from INDUSTRY 4.0 which was taking the work away from them so as the meaningfulness of their own life.

To INDUSTRY 5.0 was assigned the image of the WASTELESS WORLD in the meaning of world without waste and wasting in all its forms.

The next change delivered the world highlighted above “WASTING” which in fact exists in ENGLISH vocabulary, but it is not used in the connection of “CREATING WASTE” which is very interesting, and some British so as US English native speakers told me to stick with the word because they realized its “absence” in their own language is critical.

Very important for the development of INDUSTRY 5.0 was the specification of “WASTE CATEGORIES” which are being recognized to be prevented. There are four of them

• PHYSICAL WASTE
• SOCIAL WASTE
• URBAN WASTE
• PROCESS WASTE

There is no environment where at least one (but most frequently three) categories do not apply.

PRODUCTION, CONSTRUCTION, AGRICULTURE, BANKING, EDUCATION, POLITICS, MEDICINE, SCIENCE, LOGISTICS, PACKAGING, and many more.

Since the very beginning politicians and decision-makers have been informed about the existence of INDUSTRY 5.0 so as INDUSTRIAL UPCYCLING and received updates related to the development.

On August 21, 2020, INDUSTRY 5.0 KEYNOTE speech was delivered on the biggest industrial online event in INDIA, organized by the CONFEDERATION OF INDIAN INDUSTRIES (CII) started the AGE OF INDUSTRY 5.0 in INDIA.

On October 14, 2020, the very first INDUSTRY 5.0 AMBASSADOR Shiv-Rao CHALLA started operation in India.

On January 7, 2021, EUROPEAN COMMISSION officially included INDUSTRY 5.0 in the EUROPEAN SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT FRAMEWORK referring among others to INDUSTRY 5.0 DEFINITION by Michael Rada.

On January 14, 2021, the official expansion of INDUSTRY 5.0 AMBASSADORS NETWORK started, gaining within until July 2021, Fifty-seven members, granting access to more than 60% of the global HUMAN population.

In May 2021, the distribution of GOVERNANCE KEYNOTE to heads of states and governments, and In June the first keynote was prepared for the UNITED NATIONS.

Despite the fact that INDUSTRY 5.0 was officially launched on December 1, 2015, its principles based on systematic waste prevention methodology (INDUSTRIAL UPCYCLING) have been already implemented since 2013. In that time (2013–2021) more than one million metric tons of products have been prevented to become waste. It is expected that with INDUSTRY 5.0 AMBASSADORS NETWORK the volume would sharply grow.

INDUSTRY 5.0 is not the result of governmental order (INDUSTRY 5.0 GERMAN GOVERNMENT, SOCIETY 5.0 JAPANESE GOVERNMENT) but it is the result of several years of implementation work which helps to define, develop, name and apply tools and methodologies which nobody in the world applied before.

INDUSTRY 5.0 helps to achieve one and only aim to BUILD WASTELESS WORLD in the meaning of world free of waste and wasting in all its forms. The role model is NATURE because NATURE DOE NOT WASTE.
