HI STORY
A month ago I visited for the first time SINGAPORE and it was great.
I have not come to explore the city as a turist but to work and spread the knowledge about INDUSTRY 5.0.
I met great people at 9th MANUFACTURING EXCELLENCE event and one of the people I met was LAPITHA GUNASINGHE not only LEAN professional, but HUMAN
We went together with others to visit the SINGAPORE INSTITUTE OF MANUFACTURING TECHNOLOGY, one of the leading institutes supporting industries and businesses, in the country, and on the wall we saw the folowing image
The reason for sharing this story is not to show up, but to share the first thought which came to me when I saw the image mentioning INDUSTRY 5.0 at the bottom
I thought of KAREL ČAPEK, the author of the term “ROBOT” which was introduced in 1921 to become part of every single language before the term ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE introduced in 1956.
How KAREL ČAPEK will feel to see the term he introduced on the wall of a facility filled with ROBOTS?
KAREL ČAPEK, GEORGE ORWELL, ISAAC ASSIMOV, TOMAS HRUBY, and many others wrote their books, stories, and screenplays frequently not only to entertain the readers and viewers but to wake-up everyone.
I recommend everyone who sees the future in ROBOTIS and AI to listen to the screenplay which introduced the term, and described the impact if not the ROBOTS but HUMANS loose their minds
It seems like many instead of looking at history as a teacher, see it as a storyteller.
During several of our WASTELESS WORLD TALKS did BILL MCCLAIN mentioned that HISTORY IS WRITTEN BY THE WINNERS
He is right
Living for the first 18 years of my life in CZECHOSLOVAK SOCIALIST REPUBLIC, we have been served the stories written by the winners only.
There was no shadow on the work of LENIN, STALIN, CASTRO, and many more, and everyone who doubts was sent to jail, or pushed down by the system, many left instead and decided to start from scratch a show in the mirror then every coin has two sides.
How would KAREL ČAPEK feel if he saw his word to be in everyone´s mouth without the speakers knowing that without him, no robot would exist.
Think about it the next time you read, listen, or watch what was produced created time ago
Have a nice time free of waste and wasting in all its forms, stay safe and be free
