Convergence of HR technologies and Industry 5.0 (introduction)
For the second time already, I have been asked by Dr. Pawan Kumar, Professor at the LOVELY PROFESSIONAL UNIVERSITY in INDIA, to write the introduction to his new publication. This time it is related to the impact of INDUSTRY 5.0 on the segment of HUMAN RESOURCES which in the years of existence become its own industry with a global presence.
For INDUSTRY 5.0 HUMANS are more than RESOURCES, and this is why for many years already we point out the need to treat HUMANS as TREASURES instead.
INDUSTRY 5.0 RECOVERS THE MISSING LINK BETWEEN NATURE AND HUMAN-MADE ECOSYSTEMS
This is why it is recognizing and preventing five types of waste
- PHYSICAL WASTE
- SOCIAL WASTE
- URBAN WASTE
- PROCESS WASTE
- WASTING OF TIME
The prevention of SOCIAL WASTE is an important part of INDUSTRY 5.0 ecosystems and this is why using the tools introduced, helps in the elimination of the social waste before it occure.
It is not just the HR, but the setup of the social-economical system, that is creating the SOCIAL WASTE already in the setup, because it divides the HUMAN life (and not only HUMAN) into three sections
- PRE-PRODUCTIVE
- PRODUCTIVE
- POST-PRODUCTIVE
Number ONE and TREE are understood by society as SOCIAL WASTE because the image of society is based on economic ground-stones and not on natural and logical approach applied in nature.
The companies adopted the ill socio-economical modules, and its main aim is to exploit the resources in shortest time possible and terminate after exchanging it with the “new resource”
INDUSTRY 5.0 IS THE FIRST INDUSTRIAL EVOLUTION EVER LED BY MAN (HUMAN)
The term HUMAN is not a buzzword, but the key
Living in the times of digitalization and virtualization it seems like the only one that needs to be digitalized is HUMAN itself. But if this would be realized the HOME of HUMAN will be dark, because DATA do not need any light.
INDUSTRY 5.0 prevents this to happen by changing the role of HUMAN in the system. Instead of being a “COMPONENT” it will become the “SOUL, BRAIN, and HEART”
NATURE never exploits its own resources leaving no space for recovery, the same INDUSTRY 5.0. It brings back MEANINGFULNESS of WORK resulting in MEANINGFULNESS of LIFE.
In 1959, in a video interview, Carl Gustav Jung sayd “THE MAN CANNOT LIVE MEANINGLESS LIFE”
One of the world´s most famous psychologists was right, saying that just 14 years after the end of the biggest war in human history.

The same applies to Technology, AI, Machines, Robots, and many more. The life in which ROBOTS utilize the addiction of HUMANS on MACHINES was well described in the screenplay and novel in which the term “ROBOT” was used for the first time in a HUMAN history. It is called “R.U.R”, author KAREL ČAPEK, and it was published in 1921.
One of the strongest tools of INDUSTRY 5.0 is called THE POWER OF TOUCH and you see one in the cover image of this article. What you do not recognize on the first sight is the fact that this hadshake connects 150 years of life. The hand of ZDENEK LEBR connected with the hand of MICHAEL RADA. Great TEACHER and his STUDENT. GRANDDAD and GRANDSON.

The new workplace is not limited by the walls of a factory, office, or field. It is not limited by the lavel of certificates collected during the education time. It is not closed to all who are not in the right age. It does create an open ecosystem in which the more experienced share their knowledge and wisdom with those who know better the technology and together in HARMONY and UNITY the HUMAN TREASURE and WISDOM is being utilized in reaching above any expectation.
After I started with my keynote delivered on August 21, 2020, the AGE OF INDUSTRY 5.0 IN INDIA and assigned the world first INDUSTRY 5.0 AMBASSADOR in the country, the first project we worked on was the project of GHAR-AGE academy in which education and industries merge, breaking the silos. During the years it developed into PROFUSION ACADEMY in which the principles of INDUSTRY 5.0 are being applied every single day to help all to understand.
INDUSTRY 5.0 TIMELINE visualize a progress never achieved before, starting from ZERO to the GLOBAL INDUSTRIAL TREND OF A CENTURY. It developed this way because of respecting the principles described in my introduction and I hope the publication of Dr. Prawan Kumar will help everyone to nourish it and help to narrow the understanding of INDUSTRY 5.0 because there is only one original, but many fakes
The volume of “FAKE” INDUSTRY 5.0 is big and the reason is that INDUSTRY 5.0 as a term became thanks to realized projects and global presence so popular, that only in 2023 over 2B USD has been invested in projects that use the term (biggest investment by the SPACE INDUSTRY in CANADA, 1,26B USD). The issue with the fake is that the companies and individuals do not respect the principles, but they use the term to cover the fact that it is used just to sell the products and technologies developed to push INDUSTRY 4.0 that failed to deliver the promised results. The understanding of the difference between original and fake is important, because in prevents wasting of money and time.
In relation to HR, there is no difference, only the understanding of the original principles, will deliver positive results. If the HUMAN RESOURCES department will evaluate just age, and collected diplomas and rewards, it will not be able to build and maintain strong company culture based on innovations and creative solutions.
It is recommended to break not only the silos between industries, but between the departments on the horizontal scale, but as well to break up the silos in organization structure, in the meaning of vertical scale. Senior management or board members are usually too far from the GEMBA (Ground Floor) that they do not listen and recognize the true potential of own employees.
- Business calendars filled with meetings are not sign of efficiency but the inability not to waste time
- Business trips for a meeting do not bring frequently any value and can be exchanged with virtual meetings
- Senior workers can be slower, but have rich problem-solving experience and with the use of appropriate tools and technology, can deliver much larger scale of results if permitted to do so
- Junior workers can be faster, but have extensive experience with new technology and can bring other perspectives on the issues, problems, and solutions if permitted to do so
- HARMONY AND UNITY should be established between all levels creating the tree delivering the best fruits without the need to be the strongest tree in the orchard
